Salvation Army Celebrates National Donut Day Across the Country

The Salvation Army commemorated National Donut Day across the country on June 6, 2025. National Donut Day recognizes the amazing legacy of the “donut girls” in WWI who served soldiers on the frontlines with encouragement and food, like donuts, that reminded them of home.

Corps and commands took donuts to first responders, hosted donut eating contests, shared the history of Donut Day with community leaders, engaged local media and more.
